Do you think court-ordered protection orders can really protect you?

Here is a case where a protection order did absolutely no good whatsoever. The petitioner was killed by the respondent...and, the respondent then killed himself...but, of course the tragedy still took place. Remember, when seconds count, the police are minutes away.
