Adding a different caliber or category (i.e., "Semi-Auto" or "Non-Semi-Auto")

NM DPS allows the addition of calibers or changing/upgrading the existing caliber(s) on your current license.

Here are the required steps to accomplish that:
 

• Contact me to arrange to shoot the course of fire with the new/changed firearm category or caliber. The fee is $51.

• After I send you a Course of Fire Completion Certificate, download and complete the NM DPS application (NOTE: Fill out pages 1 and 2, look at the bottom right corner of the PDF document to locate the right pages)

 

• Follow the directions on the form, be sure to check off the "OTHER" box and type in "ADD ENDORSEMENT"

 

• Send the form, your current permit, and a $10 check to:

For Change of Address, Change of Name, or to Replace a Lost/Stolen License:

 

• Download and complete the NM DPS Replacement Card Application located here.

• Follow the directions on the form, be sure to check off the appropriate box.

 

• Send the form, your current license, and a $5 check to:
