This is an official National Rifle Association (NRA) Basic Pistol class for anyone who may have little or no experience with handguns.
It is conducted in association with the Los Alamos Sportsmen's Club (LASC) in Los Alamos, NM.
Students do not have to be members of LASC.
inner workings of handguns and ammunition, and
basic skills needed to shoot safely and accurately.
A live fire session follows classroom instruction.
We strive for a 1 to 1 ratio for instructor to student during the live fire portion.
Students will have the ability to fire a variety of handguns and calibers.
All instruction is accomplished in a non-stress, easy paced, low-key manner.
Firearms, ammunition, along with vision and hearing protection are provided by LASC.
Students may bring personally-owned firearms and ammunition - however, please ensure firearms brought to the class are NOT loaded!
The class is usually about 8 hours in duration, depending on class participation and ongoing instructor assessment of student progress.
The classroom and indoor range are reserved 8:00am - 5:00pm
The Live Fire portion of this class may be located at the indoor range or Range Alpha outside depending on instructor preference, weather conditions, or other
