EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
I bring several years of experience with my formal training as a firearms instructor. I
served as a firearms instructor with the Orange County (CA) Sheriff's Department
(OCSD), as well as being a California "Level 1" P.O.S.T. certified Reserve Sheriff's
Deputy assigned to the Uniform Patrol Reserve Unit and later, the Investigative Reserve
Unit. I was promoted to the rank of Reserve Sergeant in both units, and was with the
Sheriff's Department for nearly ten years.
In addition to being a certified instructor for the New Mexico
Concealed Carry training, my formal firearm training includes:

From the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
From the National Rifle Association (NRA)
From other training organizations
While an instructor for OCSD, I was responsible for training incumbent Deputies in
continuing "refresher" training for both pistol and shotgun, instructed Deputies in
"transition" training to semi-automatics from revolvers, instructed new recruits in the
Sheriff's Academy in Combat Handgun and Principles of Deadly Force, and contributed
significantly to the effort of the Department Training Division's "Laser Village" tactical
training center.

I keep my firearms skills up to date by entering combat and self-defense oriented
shooting matches whenever time permits.
